Acquisition is an interesting P2P client with a few innovative features but when Transmission and Limewire are both free, users will see little point paying for it. This release brings auto-updater support (similar to the recent NewsFire beta) to make future software updates as painless as possible.
- Overall, although its user interface isn’t its best feature, Acquisition does prove to be an intuitive and simple to use Gnutella client, with enough customization options to make it an app worthy of a P2P user’s /Applications folder. We at AppsForMyPC have tested and used Acquisition for Mac.
- In February 2014, Facebook purchased the messaging service WhatsApp for $19 billion. The acquisition price was staggering for an app that made little money and was largely popular outside the United States. Now, newly published confidential Facebook emails and charts show exactly why CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent a small fortune for the messaging app.
- It uses iCloud or Dropbox to store and save GIFs across multiple devices and includes an iMessage app. GIFWrapped is a free download from the App Store with an in-app purchase option to remove ads.
- A simple and minimal oscilloscope Mac app that focuses on use with synths. And minimal oscilloscope Mac app. Spectre Student. Spectre Student is a multi-instrument, real-time audio analyzer for OS X. VU, spectrograph, oscilloscope, and spectrogram. WaveWindow AU.

Acquisition was a Gnutella-based peer-to-peer client designed specifically for Mac OS X. It supported BitTorrent and was based on LimeWire. A shareware product, it was priced from $25.[1] Acquisition was noted more for its focus on user interface[1] and integration with Mac OS X than for its originality in features, although it made full use of Apple's CocoaAPIs,[citation needed] and integrated with iTunes.[2]
Acquisition used parts of the LimeWire core libraries, licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). The graphical user interface and the open source, modified LimeWire core run as separate processes, communicating via Unix pipes, which allows parts of the software to be relicensed.[3] This follows in the footsteps of the precedent set by Apple's proprietary Xcode suite, which relies on open source components such as gcc and gdb.
Although Acquisition used parts of LimeWire code, it continued to work after LimeWire's decision to disable its client. It was able to do so because the code that allowed Limewire to disable their software was absent, as it was from its sister programs Cabos and FrostWire, among others.
Currently the website of the project reads 'Acquisition is no longer available for download.'
